Mayo as a coastal county has some wonderful cycle routes to choose from, some of which include the Great Western Greenway and the National Costal Trail.
The Great Western Greenway is the longest off-road cycling trail in Ireland and is the first portion of the National Cycle Network to be developed. It offers the potential to connect Mayo's existing cycle hubs at Westport and Achill. Check out our Cycling page for more information.

New free Iphone App has arrived for Mayo Trails !!
The Great Western Greenway is the first of the Mayo Trails to be
showcased on an Iphone app that is now availble to download for free
from the itunes store.
The Greenway App is the perfect companion for the trail – it provides
great content & features to help you plan your trip and make the most
of it when you get there. The app mixes audio, pictures and text to
tell you the stories of the trail, from the princess and the pirate queen
to poisonings and carnivorous plants. The app features

- Ordnance Survery maps of the Greenway
- GPS Integration so that you can see where you are on the map
- Listings for bike hire, places to eat & places to stay in the area.
